We are the Advanced Imaging and Artificial Intelligence Lab (AI2Lab) at the University of Calgary. We develop responsible artificial intelligence methods for multimodal medical imaging and healthcare applications.

Our research integrates medical image processing, machine learning, and multimodal data to better understand changes associated with aging and disease, with particular interests in neuroimaging and musculoskeletal imaging.

AI2Lab is based in the Departments of Electrical and Software Engineering and Biomedical Engineering within the Schulich School of Engineering. We are also affiliated with the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, McCaig Institute, and Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute.

• Whenever possible, we make our data, code, and research resources publicly available. We also organize free workshops in programming, image analysis, and artificial intelligence to support broader participation in research and technology.
